Tavern & Hunting Lodge
Mist Ward 14 Plot 48 Balmung

The Broken Horn

Located just off the Central Mist Subdivision aetheryte in Ward 14, Plot 48, the Broken Horn is home to swords and spirits alike. Founded by Madoc Parnell with the help of Arshtat Ejinn, the two Xaela work together to offer jobs for aspiring or experienced hunters and mercenaries, and offer food and drink enough to satisfy their appetites.

The basement is home to the tavern, boasting the best home-cooked meals this side of the Steppe. With a mix of classic, fresh Limsan ingredients and recipes from the east, no one will leave hungry. Arshtat will make sure of it. Not hungry? Then pull up a seat at the bar and Madoc will take it from there. With on tap choices, as well as specialty alcohol, he guarantees to quench that post-hunt thirst. Become a regular? The tavern might also name a drink in honor.

The first floor of the lodge offers a job board curated by the staff on a regular basis. Up for a challenge? Need some gil? The Broken Horn likely has a solution to both. The Horn also offers various other amenities including: guest rooms, a private guest lounge, and a training hall.

OOC Statement: The Broken Horn is meant to be a roleplay hub for like-minded adventurers of the Crystal Data Center. Even when the owners are not around, we encourage people to hang out, bring a friend and use our tavern and guest spaces for backdrops for your personal stories.

Tavern Staff

Madoc Parnell
Born in the Steppe, raised in Eorzea, Madoc wants to bring the best of both worlds to the Broken Horn. When he isn't out working as a mercenary, he enjoys brewing and mixing new drinks, passing out work to intrepid patrons, and telling stories of his past adventures. He is spirited, friendly, and a tease. It's one of his favorite pastimes to get to know those who visit the bar.
Arshtat Ejinn
Arshtat is the quiet and gentle side of both the tavern and the company. Keeping true to her roots, much of the recipes served at the Horn are cooked with her own two hands, or were heavily influenced by tribal food. Shy, but welcoming, Arshtat tries her hardest to make sure all patrons wish to come back, and she is no stranger to the mercenary work either.
Khuu
Khuu is the spoiled rotten tiger that was found by Arshtat and Madoc orphaned on the Steppe as a cub. Fully grown, and a bit of handful, most staff and patrons are pretty familiar with him. He is rather hard to miss. Arshtat would say Khuu has very good manners, for a tiger, but he is a bit of a troublemaker and makes attempts at earning table scraps.
Kamaria (NPC)
Rumor is that Kamaria is some sort of Thavnairian princess that had a falling out with her father. She has not confirmed the rumor, but if you want connections, she has them. In charge of finding work for hunters and mercenaries, see her if you are in need of coin. And don't worry, she hates everyone, it's not just you.
Mhorwyda (NPC)
Barkeep and acting proprietor when both Madoc and Arshtat are away, Mhor has a rather jovial personality. But do not let her smile fool you, she can probably (will) drink you under the table and does not take kindly to nonsense when she's in charge. She makes a mean drink but gives a meaner left hook.
Jun (NPC)
Jun does not say much, and he'd prefer you did not say much to him either. A hired hand, Jun does a bit of everything: errands, cleaning and breaking up the occasional bar brawl. He really only listens to Madoc, and is pretty good with a knife. Most patrons think he has to be (probably is) some sort of shinobi.

Please note that all staff marked as NPCs are always on site (even when Madoc and Arshtat, or us as the players can not be). If you would like to RP in the tavern or any of our open rooms, you are free to do so and free to use NPCs as needed.
It takes a few hands to keep this place running.
Oh, and the tiger.
